This next book is definitely not for 13 year-olds. In Teaching True Love to a Sex-at-13 Generation, Leslie and Eric Ludy have put together a book for parents and leaders. The purpose of this book is to share what the view point of young people are and how to reach them.

Eric and Leslie share many shocking statistics. They show how our perverted culture has twisted young minds. So many preteens of today have such a sexual mindset. It is unlike anything that has been seen in other generations.

Leslie and Eric tackle this problem, breaking it down for adults and leaders who want to help. This book teaches how to reach these young people and break their worldy mindset about relatinoships and sex. It is a must-read for parents striving to teach their children about godly relationships.

Answering the Guy Questions

While Answering the Guy Questions may not seem as deep a book as others Leslie Ludy has written, it is still a vital resource for Christian women today.

In a world that encourages bold women to go after the man they want, Leslie’s voice is refreshing. The challenge for women is to not focus on pleasing God. By living for God, a woman will become irresistible to the right kind of man. A godly man.

Leslie uses her own story to demonstrate her points. She also uses other women’s stories, some single and some married. Leslie paints the picture of what a God-honoring relationship with the opposite looks like. She clearly points young women on how to get there.

This book is practical and spiritually deep. There are answers for young women simply trying to navigate the world’s emotional turmoil in relationships. This book clarifies what we are doing wrong and what we need to get better at.

The Lost Art of True Beauty

The Lost Art of True Beauty is another of Leslie Ludy’s practical books. Once again she delves into the vapidness of our society. She shows girls and their broken dreams of being valued as princesses.

First of all, Leslie makes sure to show women they need to have the correct foundation. They need to base all of their worth and beauty on Jesus Christ. Their relationship with Him defines their worth.
Then she gets into the practical things. Since we should be attempting to showcase Christ in all we do, the rest comes naturally. Leslie talks about overcoming insecurity and seeing yourself as God sees you.
She urges women to build their feminity based on God’s values. This practical book is worth reading for young Christian women of all ages.

Leslie’s Set-Apart Thot

October 18, 2010

Hopefully you have been reading and enjoying some of Leslie Ludy’s numerous books. No matter how many times I read them, they continuously challenge me.

Today I am posting a video of Leslie’s. In this video she basically talks about how young Christian ladies can and should find their fulfillment in Christ. It is extremely practical. I hope you enjoy it.

Sacred Singleness

I love this next book because it is so applicable to my own life at this time. Leslie Ludy wrote Sacred Singleness to reach out the ladies who are still waiting for their princes. It is a good encouragement to Christian ladies.

This book dealing with being single is very practical. Leslie brings up many different aspects of a single woman’s life and how to deal with them. She also challenges young Christian ladies not to become stagnant simply because they are single.

Leslie stresses the point that single Christian women should be concentrating on their Heavenly Prince. They should not be manipulating situations and striving to control their relationship status. All they should be concerned about is “Heavenly applause,” as Leslie says in the book.

This is a good book for any single young woman. It reassures that they are not alone and what they are going through is normal.

Set-Apart Femininity

Hopefully some of you have read  When Dreams Come True,  and When God Writes Your Love Story and Authentic Beauty. If you have, the next book I want to challenge you to read is Set-Apart Femininity. Now this book is not for the faint of heart. Nor is it for those who really are not planning on changing anything in their lives. Leslie kicks it up a notch in this hard-nose approach to the world’s idea of femininity and guy/girl relationships.

In this book Leslie takes on the dangerous influences in every young girls lives. The magazines screaming that their idea of beauty is the only true beauty. She addresses the romantic chick flicks that pride themselves in their shallow, physical depictions of love. Even other Christians aren’t safe, as she confronts the strains of the world in young Christian women.

To me, one of the most powerful aspects of this book is that Leslie uses her own life to illustrate the dangers young women face. This is not simply some church lady who decided girls needed to learn a thing or two. This is a godly young woman who has lived what she is writing, and wants nothing more but to warn and encourage others. I highly recommend this book for all of you who are serious about honoring God with your femininity.

Authentic Beauty

I hope you all enjoyed the Ludy’s wedding video! Hopefully it gave you a little glimpse into the amazing person who writes these books. The third book by Leslie Ludy I read was Authentic Beauty. This book is definitely one of Leslie’s best. Now that she has laid a foundation with When God Writes Your Love Story, Leslie comes out with a book that challenges young Christian women to be so much more than what this society asks them to be.

Leslie describes aptly the longing in every girl’s heart to be a princess. And every princess needs a prince who will cherish her for the rest of her life. Yet not every princess has a prince yet. However, this is where Leslie challenges our misconceptions and sympathy for ourselves. She charges that if we are Christians, we already have a prince. And this prince is far greater and loves us far more than any earthly prince could.

Throughout the rest of her book, Leslie shares how young women can be content in Christ as their prince. After all, he is the prince who created us. All other love comes from him. I highly recommend this book for all Christian young women.
